Michael H. Agranoff has spent much of his professional life working inside the kinds of institutions most people only encounter from the outside.

His career began in corporate America, where he worked as a programmer and analyst and gained experience in computer systems, security, organizational management, and corporate culture. Those years gave him a close view of how large organizations function and how bureaucracy can sometimes stand between people and common-sense solutions.

Michael later entered the legal profession, earning his J.D. magna cum laude from the University of Connecticut School of Law. He began practicing law in 1989 and ultimately developed extensive experience defending parents and families in Child Protective Services matters.

Over 31 years of CPS defense work, he saw how quickly families can become overwhelmed when facing a government agency they do not fully understand. His approach placed strong value on examining records carefully, verifying important information, asking questions, gathering evidence, and taking family defense seriously.

Those experiences became the foundation of his writing. Michael does not ask readers to accept every conclusion he reaches. He asks them to look carefully, think independently, verify what matters, and make informed decisions.

That philosophy connects everything he writes.
